How To: Three Summer Cocktails

As the days get longer and the heat of the summer intensifies, there is truly nothing better than an evening aperitif. Instead of indulging in a drink at your favorite bar, there is something special about mixing cocktails with friends and loved ones in the comfort of your own home. While it might seem intimidating to mix original, bar-level cocktails yourself, there are ways to use what already exists on your bar cart to put a twist on the classics to impress whoever you might be entertaining.

Elderflower Gin and Tonic

2 ounces gin

1 ounce St-Germain

2 ounces tonic water

A sprig of mint (and fresh elderflower if available)

Lime wedge

Fill your Balloon Tumbler with ice. Add the gin of your choice and St-Germain. Top with tonic water and garnish with a lime wedge and sprigs of mint and/or elderflower. Enjoy!

Negroni Sbagliato

1 ounce Campari

1 ounce sweet vermouth

1-1 1/2 ounce(s) prosecco

Orange peel

Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add the Campari and sweet vermouth and stir to chill. Strain into your Patrician Champagne Coupe. Top with prosecco and garnish with an orange peel. Enjoy!

Dilly Cucumber Gimlet

Half of a Persian cucumber, chopped, plus a slice for garnish

A sprig of dill, plus more for garnish

½ ounce simple syrup

2 ounces gin

1 ounce fresh lime juice
